Vincent Kompany has said that Dedrcyk Boyata is one of the most hugely respected players in the Manchester City squad.

The Manchester City defensive line looked rock solid during Sunday’s convincing 5-0 victory over Sunderland and Kompany heaped praise on the 20-year-old full-back who was only appearing for the third time this season.

“Dedryck is unbelievable because he didn’t play for a long time and he is someone that the team has a lot of respect for because when he comes in he always delivers,” Kompany told the club's offcial website.

“And it is not only the easy games where he comes in. He has played in the most difficult games the club has had in the last few years and delivered.
